ClearStats YouTube Tracking
Part of the ClearStats Sales Insight Engine
YouTube Tracking shows a creator led business which of its YouTube videos actually produce leads, booked calls and sales. Instead of one number for YouTube, the business sees one card per video: thumbnail, title, posted date, views, leads, booked calls, wins and cash collected, over the last 30, 60 or 90 days.
How it works
The channel owner signs in with Google once and allows ClearStats YouTube Tracking to manage the descriptions of their own videos.
For each long form video, the application finds the landing page link the owner already placed in the description and appends tracking parameters that name that video. Nothing else in the description, and nothing else about the video, is changed.
When a viewer clicks that link and becomes a lead, the lead carries the video’s id. ClearStats joins that to the client’s bookings and sales records.
Video titles, thumbnails and view counts are refreshed from YouTube every 15 minutes so the dashboard stays current.
What the application accesses
Video metadata and descriptions of the connected channel’s own videos, read through the YouTube Data API.
Description updates on the connected channel’s own long form videos, written through the YouTube Data API.
It does not upload or delete videos, does not read or write comments, and does not access viewer or subscriber identities.
Who uses it
ClearStats operates the application on behalf of each client business for that client’s own channel. The channel owner can revoke access at any time from their Google Account permissions page.
